Spring Dazzle is an oil painting of a peony from my own photo. The peony or paeony is a flowering plant in the genus Paeonia. Peonies, also known as "Polish Roses" are native to Asia, Europe and Western North America. Scientists differ on the number of species that can be distinguished, ranging from 25 to 40, although the current consensus is 33 known species. They are a complex and beautiful floral creation.

In one of the suburbs east of Dallas, Texas, Candace began her art journey with dry media, such as colored pencil, pen, graphite, pastel and charcoal in 2000. By 2003, she began painting in oil, of which, as she expresses, is her favorite medium. Her artwork involves painting in oil on canvas or panel with brushes, palette knives, toothpicks and anything else that will provide the desired expression for the painting at hand, ranging from realism to a slightly looser style. Inspired by the way light hits a child, the beautiful glistening seascape, the delicate flower, trees and landscape or the cuteness of a pet, Candace enjoys painting light and color that encourages good and positive emotions.
