Rita, oil on canvas, is a painting I did after a conversation with a friend who said they liked Rita Hayworth as an actress. I began searching online and was challenged to paint the lady with the red hair.

In one of the suburbs east of Dallas, Texas, Candace began her art journey with dry media, such as colored pencil, pen, graphite, pastel and charcoal in 2000. By 2003, she began painting in oil, of which, as she expresses, is her favorite medium. Her artwork involves painting in oil on canvas or panel with brushes, palette knives, toothpicks and anything else that will provide the desired expression for the painting at hand, ranging from realism to a slightly looser style.
