Biography

Candace Antonelli In one of the suburbs east of Dallas, Texas, Candace began her art journey with dry media, such as colored pencil, pen, graphite, pastel and charcoal in 2000. By 2003, she began painting in oil, of which, as she expresses, is her favorite medium.

Candace attended two years of drawing classes at Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Texas and one year at Eastfield Community College in Dallas. She was introduced, briefly, in oils by an Arkansas accomplished oil painter, Joann Diffee, and a local skilled commercial artist and very talented oil painter, Johnny Gomez. Johnny took the time to introduce Candace to more of the basics of painting and the art business. She, also, attended an oil painting class at Creative Art Center of Dallas for three years, 2008 through 2011, under Instructor, Dave Kramer.

Candace was involved with a local art league and participated in several annual art shows. She has accomplished commissioned art for clients and has created art for exclusive events. Her paintings were exhibited at a number of local shops including, at that time, Texas Roast, Candlelight & Lampposts, The Hilton Bella Harbor in Rockwall and at the Wylie Art Gallery.

Since 2015 when Candace moved to southwest rural Kansas, in order to be more available for her, just older youth, parents, she has taken opportunities to show her artwork at the local annual County Fair in 2017 and 2018, at Garden City Arts in 2019 and Finney County Courthouse in 2020. Throughout her art career she has won various awards and hopes to continue painting, developing and creating for many years to come.
